In Gratitude for Dr. Jane Goodall 🌿
About five years ago, when I was still a relative newbie in illustration, I had one of the most meaningful experiences of my creative journey. . .
This week, the world lost one of its brightest lights: the wonderful Dr. Jane Goodall. 🌿
She was not only a groundbreaking primatologist and conservationist, but also a lifelong advocate for peace, compassion, and our planet. Through her work with chimpanzees and her tireless efforts to protect nature, she inspired generations to care more deeply about our world and each other.
I feel incredibly fortunate that, in a small and metaphorical way, our paths crossed. Dr. Goodall once reviewed a book I illustrated — “What the World Needs Now: Trees!”. Reading her kind words was one of the greatest honors of my creative journey. If I hadn’t been an illustrator, I never would have had that moment of connection with her, and I carry it with deep gratitude.

Her voice and vision will continue to guide so many of us. Thank you, Dr. Goodall, for reminding us to live with kindness, humility, and respect for all living things. 🌱
