Sharing my work: old vs recent

I bumped into my very old work (2017), and I was surprised by how my art had changed over the years. There is massive progress! I’m so sorry if it sounds cocky, but you have to be honest with yourself when you look at your art over time. Don’t be too modest, don’t be too smug. You need to know you are on the right path and you are getting better and better, or you are not, and maybe it’s time to try a different approach.

And that can be tricky, because sometimes (often) bad days come, when you hate your art, when you feel you forgot how to draw… but this belongs to the process and bad days are okay. You need to see your progress not in one single piece, but in a bunch of work over time.

Note: for the bunny, I shared a voice-over tutorial here, if you want to try :)

So I dug a bit into my work to share my journey

All that I have learned, I have learned on my own. I didn’t have special talent, but I have loved art since my toddler years. Ehm… it was doodling, but still, I grabbed the pencils and just created. On papers, on walls in our flat… I shared my professional journey in this post; if you want to check it out. Here, I just encourage you to continue drawing, to make a real commitment and to draw something every day. Anything. 5 minutes, 15 minutes, an hour, it’s up to you; each brush stroke counts!

Note: tutorials for the witch cat, a super simple kitty (in 5 minutes), and sketching are in this collection.

Collection of tutorials

Here you can find almost 60 drawing tutorials, all video, so you can watch every stroke and get all the explanations and guidance. And most of those tutorials are also voice-over, and with prepared sketches to follow really easily. So no excuse here!

Note: Those from 2017 were the very first I drew on iPad, on my very first iPad! I’m working on the Procreate series “Wish I Knew This Sooner“, so stay tuned :)
