What’s actually going on here :)

Hey, my creative crew :) We’ve gained A LOT of new members recently (Welcome!), so I wanted to briefly summarise what you can find here and help you navigate the space more easily. Maybe it helps old members too; summer was long, and many of you enjoyed vacation and put drawing aside for a bit. So a gentle reminder can help you jump back on track.

Tutorials

• I made 60 step-by-step video tutorials (so far), mostly with a voice-over and a PNG/JPG sketch as a little helper. There is a lot of stuff for free, but I encourage you to give it a try and join one of the tiers; it depends on what you are looking for and your commitment.

• In the summer, we truly immersed ourselves in the basics and the foundation of poses. If you missed that, I recommend catching up, because these fundamental skills truly level up your drawing. You will understand how to work with perspective, movement, and angles, and how to make your characters alive and not boring. And all those new skills you can apply to any drawing in the future- sketch or colour, any style, any character.

• In September, we’ll come back to drawing in colour and character design.

Process Videos

Which brings me to the process videos. Process videos aren’t tutorials. These are for relaxing and watching, almost as if you are looking over my shoulder. You can watch my work as a professional character designer and illustrator, and pick up a lot of useful thoughts or skills. I recommend checking out the text below the videos or pictures; I usually share a lot of tips and tricks from my own practice.

Here I share chunks from my professional work, updates, struggles, progress, and thoughts about an illustrator’s life and work. Plus a lot of useful information and tips about creating a picture book and all around.
